Hay on Wye is situated on the river Wye, the border between England and Wales, in the foothills of the Black Mountains.  The town of Hay boasts the largest number of second hand bookshops in the world, a range of restaurants and pubs serving delicious local produce, boutique independent shops and the traditional stores run by local families that have been here for generations. Hay is a working market town with butchers, bakers, ironmongers, greengrocer and a delicatessen, alongside a Thursday produce and livestock market.
